Make sure not to get any wax in the holes of the iron but other then that it should be just fine.

How to wax a snowboard with a regular iron. Double check the setting on your iron. After you have dripped wax onto your snowboard base you must iron it in. A good wax job requires a good waxing iron.

Using a teflon sheet between iron and base helps to protect the base. Never let the iron sit for any length of time on the base and keep it moving. Then, use the iron to spread the wax across the surface and let it cool for 30 minutes.

Iron the wax into the entire base and allow the board to cool for about 10 minutes. When your done just take the foil off and toss it and your iron is good as new again. There are two main methods for waxing a snowboard, the first is using iron wax to wax the board and the second is using rub on wax.

Do this by holding the iron and your block of wax over the snowboard base. Ensure you have dripped the wax so that every two inches there is a drop of wax on the board base. For fat skis or snowboards, drizzle back and forth along the base to cover the width.

Place the iron on the ski or snowboard base and spread the wax over the entire base until a layer of wax coats the whole surface. Take your block of wax and press it on the iron while moving it around the board. Yes you can use a regular iron just fine.

Press the wax against the iron and when it starts melting run it over the snowboard. Warm up the iron to a medium heat and then hold the wax against the iron until it starts to melt the wax at a slow drip. Start off with a low temp and work your way up until you find the right temp (no smoke coming from wax) and then just leave the iron set there.
